ADU 0140: What do pilots with a 333 Exemption think of it now that they have one? Do they regret it? Would they do it different now?

Today is a special espisode as we go into greater detail about the FAA and the 333 Exemption. We continue to get a bunch of questions about the 333, and although it may seem like we talk about it a lot, we actually have only done about five episodes on it now (out of 140 now). It is such an important discussion because you must understand what it is and isn't. Therefore, we've taken all the questions about it lately and done something that we trust you'll love and appreciate...we've interviewed dozens (literally) of pilots who either have or don't have their exemption. So this is your opportunity to hear directly from a wide range of pilots doing this daily. We ask them what they think of it, why they have it, why they don't have it, how they're affected by it and what they recommend. So this is an episode that will, once again, help you understand both sides of the issue so you can make an informed decision if having a 333 Exemption is necessary for you from the stand point of a business decision (not a requirement). To be clear on our stance, you absolutely do NOT, under any circumstance, need a 333 to make money with your drone. It really comes down to what you want to do; it's a preference. There are some industries and groups that will not work with you unless you have a 333. But that's their choice, and, frankly, stems from their lack of understanding what the laws actually say.
